The Most Difficult Studio Pitch Ever

A new documentary was unveiled at Sundance this year: "An Inconvenient Truth", a movie of Al Gore giving a power point presentation. No, seriously. That's what it is.

The presentation is on global warming. But before you develop nightmarish visions of the stodgiest, droniest science teacher ever to blather in front of a blackboard and chemistry set, take note: the film garnered sell-out buzz and was picked up for distribution by Paramount Classics. I've been reading about Al's lectures on global warming for over a year now, and heard that uber-activist Laurie David was producing a film on them. Apparently, he's like a born again preacher of the environmental movement: fiery, passionate, charming, funny, and engaging. Everything he lacked during a certain political race in 2000.

Ms. David has announced that if this film does well, she’ll produce movies of John Kerry rehearsing with his college band and Barack Obama checking his email.
