Not Meeting People Is Easy

Radiohead’s misanthropic frontman Thom Yorke turned down an invitation to powwow with Prime Minister Tony Blair about climate change due to his lack of “environmental credentials.” He also mumbled something about Blair's Hitler hairdo and his tendency to buzz like a fridge.

“I got so stressed out and so freaked out about it. Initially when it came up I tried to be pragmatic,” Yorke told New Music Express magazine in an issue out Tuesday. “But Blair has no environmental credentials as far as I'm concerned.”

Mr. Blair was very disappointed, having outlined his credentials proudly: a picture of him with Sting, a little sack of patchouli he wears around his neck every day and a Bob Weir and Ratdog CD on the floor of his Audi.

This may bode poorly for President George W. Bush’s announcement during his last state of the union address that he really wants to “chill with Dave Matthews.”
